Spy Music Festival in New York

The Spy Music Festival takes place this July in New York.

The relatively young Brooklyn label Northern Spy has announced the lineup for its second annual SPY MUSIC FESTIVAL, a sprawling music marathon running from June 29th through July 15th featuring 46 sets of music at 7 venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Featured artists include stalwarts and emerging artists from a diverse cross section of the improv, jazz, noise, psych and indie scenes including Rhys Chatham, Matthew Shipp, Arthur Doyle, Eugene Chadbourne, PG Six, Guardian Alien, Magik Markers and many more. Two New Live Releases Coming On AUM Fidelity In July

The celebration of AUM Fidelity‘s 15th anniversary continues with the July 10th release of two new live recordings. Altitude (AUM073) documents the first-ever performance by the trio of guitarist Joe Morris, bassist William Parker and drummer Gerald Cleaver during AUM Fidelity’s two-week run curating The Stone in New York last June. Live at Jazzfestival Saalfelden 2011 (AUM074) captures the European debut of saxophonist David S. Ware’s latest group, Planetary Unknown, featuring the all-star cast of pianist Cooper-Moore, bassist William Parker and drummer Muhammad Ali.
