The Nancy Havlik Dance Performance Group Premieres Cage-Inspired Piece

The Nancy Havlik Dance Performance Group premieres Silence Is as Varied as Snow during its performance on April 28th at the Woolly Mammoth Theater Company’s Melton Rehearsal Hall in Washington, D.C.

Featuring movement, live music and spoken word, Silence Is as Varied as Snow explores the dynamic relationship between sound and silence through the interaction of seven dancers, double bass and keyboard. The piece was inspired by and devised as a response to John Cage’s engagement with silence, and is being premiered in celebration of the hundredth anniversary of Cage’s birth.
