Philip Glass and Tim Fain (Saturday) Keeping up a daunting schedule as celebrations of his 75th birthday continue, Mr. Glass takes to the piano for a joint recital with Mr. Fain, a stylish, exciting young violinist. Each will play solo, with Mr. Fain reprising the Partita that Mr. Glass recently wrote for him; the two will then join forces for Music from “The Screens” and “Pendulum.” The museum is offering a live video stream of this event. MATA Festival (Friday) Brad Lubman conducts the vital new-music ensemble Signal in the premiere of “Ballata n.2” by Francesco Filidei, a touted young Italian composer. The festival finale also includes a variety of intriguing smaller works as performed by some of New York’s most compelling interpreters, including the soprano Mellissa Hughes and the pianist Kathleen Supové.
