Thursday, February 9th: Soar Trio at Cliff Bells
Formerly known as BoxDeserter Trio, the name change was made to separate the trio’s identity from the large ensemble version of BoxDeserter. An improvising chamber group, Soar Trio consists of pianist Thollem McDonas, saxophonist Skeeter Shelton and double-bassist Joel Peterson. Contemporary Concert Music, Free Jazz and Free Improvisation are all part of the mix; we’ll probably hear some special guests in the course of the evening’s three sets.
