Sunday, October 9th: Prog night with Hyrrokkin, Nick Miilevoi, El Club DJs Glenn and Mary Anne at Old Miami
Horrokkin is an avant-rock trio from Yellow Springs, OH. Guitarist Ed Ricart was most recently seen in Detroit as one third of the William Hooker Trio. Hyyrokken leans heavily into angular guitar territory with hints of Massacre, Sonny Sharrock, and 70’s European Prog Rock.Nick Millevoi is a guitarist, composer, and teacher from Philadelphia. He is the co-leader of the avant-garde punk-jazz trio Many Arms (Engine Records, Majmua Music). Nick is also a member of progressive chamber-pop collective Make A Rising and Hassidic punk band Electric Simcha. As a sideman, Nick has toured with Discord Records recording artist Joe Lally, and has performed with Gene Coleman, Glenn Branca, and many others. He brings the cerebral end of art rock guitar to the evening’s proceedings.
