Braxton Sells Out Firehouse 12

In a landmark occasion for its acclaimed concert series, Firehouse 12 for the first time presents Anthony Braxton, the legendary multi-instrumentalist/composer/bandleader and creative music theoretician, who performs Friday at 8:30 and 10 p.m. at the New Haven avant-garde center.

Perhaps in anticipation of hearing the celebrated trailblazer’s latest conceptual innovation — a groundbreaking approach he calls Echo Echo Mirror House — both sets are sold out. To be placed on a wait list, however, requests should be sent to info@firehouse12.com.

Braxton’s debut at Firehouse 12 also marks a rare non-festival appearance for the globe-trotting luminary, whose complex music enjoys a devoted international following. On the next day, Braxton, a noted music educator and longtime distinguished faculty member at Wesleyan University in Middletown, is set to perform at the Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville in Quebec, Canada.
