They come from Montreal and across North America to this otherwise sleepy town expecting to be blown away by music, both programmed and improvised, that breaks new ground. The fans are drawn to the Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville because in its 27th season, it remains genre-eclectic, this year presenting a world-class showcase of free jazz, electro-acoustic, avantrock, noise, throat singing, and then some.
