What if you could bring one of your musical heroes to your hometown and work alongside him? Few people ever get that opportunity, but saxophonist Ben Opie (of local progressive jazz groups Opek and Thoth Trio) did. After a year of planning and grant applications, he presented a weekend of performances by avant-garde composer and MacArthur genius Anthony Braxton in May 2008.
