The Thirteenth Assembly Trio in Columbia

From the Free Times:

Fujiwara offers up the following exposition: “Taylor, Mary and myself are all from Boston, originally. And Mary and Taylor went to the same high school and college. Jessica met Taylor and Mary working with Anthony Braxton, but we all met and began playing together while living in New York City. Taylor only recently moved to New Haven, but before that, we had all been in New York for years, making music in various different groups. The idea for The Thirteenth Assembly originated though with the concept of combining our two long-standing duo projects: Taylor/Tomas and Mary/Jessica.”

The Columbia Museum of Art is at 1515 Main St. Doors open at 6 p.m.; the concert begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $10; $8 for museum members; $5 for students. Call 799-2810 or visit columbiamuseum.org for more information.
