From the ISSUE Project Room:

Brooklyn’s premier experimental performing arts space, presents new works as part of its ongoing Sonic Bed_Marfa sound installation. Featuring new works by a bimonthly rotating roster of contemporary composers, the upcoming schedule includes: DEC 2 – JAN 1 R. Luke DuBois; JAN 2-15 Stephan Moore; JAN 16-30 Suzanne Thorpe; FEB 1-14 Keiko Uenishi (o.blaat); FEB 15-28 Zach Layton; MAR 1-15 Bora Yoon; and MAR 16-31 Betsey Biggs.

Sonic Bed_Marfa, installed in the loft above ISSUE’s concert space, is a permanent installation of sound making furniture built for playback of multichannel, spatialized compositions. Designed by sound artist Kaffe Matthews, the bed is upholstered in bright yellow felt and capped in plexiglass and is designed to make music to feel rather than to just listen to. Everyone is welcome to visit the bed for free both before scheduled concerts and by appointment.
