A Noisy Night With Merzbow and Xiu Xiu at Le Poisson Rouge

Masami Akita, who goes by the stage name Merzbow, spent about 75 minutes onstage at Le Poisson Rouge on Sunday night, generating a constant fusillade of sound: from two laptops, four digital-effects stompboxes and a homemade metallic contraption slung around his neck by a guitar strap.
