From chicagotribune.com:
Mitchell’s ferocious determination, combined with the virtuosity and sensuousness of her playing, has made her one of the most talked-about flutists in jazz — as well as a winner of DownBeat Critics Polls and other accolades. Yet this week, Mitchell will enjoy new prominence, playing five concerts as artist-in-residence during Chicago Jazz Festival week, which begins Tuesday. Among the concerts will be the world premiere of an evening-length work, “Arc of O,” performed by Mitchell’s Black Earth Orchestra on Friday night at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
