Upcoming Detroit area improv shows:
Saturday, May 30th: Jack Wright/Bob Marsh Duo at CAID
This is an auspicious show, as this notable duo had its orgin in Detroit, where Jack and Bob first met. Jack is one of the longest running free improvisers in America, having devoted himself exclusively to the music since the mid 70s. His a multi-instrumentalist most recognized for his work on alto saxophone; he’s one of a hand-full of people who has expanded the extend technique on the instrument since the late 60s.
Ex-Detroiter Bob Marsh originally came to prominence as an improvising cellist- but he has a long history with electronics and has performed more with them in more settings over the years. He also performs on accordian, violin and voice. His work has included microtonal ensembles and massed accordian groups.

Sunday, May 31st: Jennie and the Sure Shots at Le Petit Zinc
We kick off the music series at Le Petit Zinc with the first Detroit appearance of The Sure Shots following their recent southern tour. New-old-timey Americana music in the garden while eat crepes and drink lattes from a bowl. What could be better on a Sunday afternoon?
