Zorn’s upcoming residency at Yoshi’s in Oakland is previewed.

Avant-garde composer and saxophonist John Zorn has been the object of ecstatic praise and furious outrage, much like his iconoclastic forebears Igor Stravinsky and Ornette Coleman.
