The Lost Dog New Music Ensemble is reviewed.
Community is a malleable quantity in a wired world. The Lost Dog New Music Ensemble hews to the conventional sense of the term: The group, founded in 1995, serves as the resident contemporary-classical ensemble of the Astoria Music Society. Guided by Garth Edwin Sunderland, the ensemble’s artistic director, Lost Dog has five core performers, with guests added on occasion. Though the ensemble regularly ventures into Manhattan, it primarily caters to audiences in Queens.
