The The Prague Post covers the recent Stimul Festival.

Since 2003, Stimul Festival has focused on rock music that isn’t about head-banging until midnight and electronic music that delivers more than booty-shaking until dawn. Grown from a pub-table discussion among friends complaining about a local lack of intelligent electronic music, the festival has more than fulfilled its aspirations. Combining local emerging artists with international names such as Fred Frith, Pan Sonic, Alex Von Schlippenbach and Fennesz, the biannual concert series has stimulated both minds and the marketplace.

Recent years have seen Stimul fest migrating from the back rooms of Roxy NoD to the multimedia facilities of Archa Theater. Earlier this month, it presented the well-received, theatrical freak-folk of Animal Collective. Still to come: KTL’s drone metal, Mogwai’s minimalist rock, and, most prominently, avant-rock pioneers Cluster.
