The Suoni Per il Popolo festival begins next month in Montreal.
This year’s festival of avant garde and experimental liberation music will run from June 1 to June 30, 2008 in Montréal, Québec. See shows section for full line-up. Artists will include Glenn Hall/William Hooker/Dominic Duval, Quartor Bozzini, Malcolm Goldstein, Jozef Van Wissem, Grant Hart, Hard Cell (Tim Berne/Craig Taiborn/Thom Rainey), Sun Ra Arkestra, Evangelista, Sandro Perri, Michael Hurley, Allan Bishop, Silver Mt. Zion, Tim Hecker, Vic Chestnutt, Barnyard Drama, Matana Roberts’ Sextet, Sir Richard Bishop, Roscoe Mitchell, Roswell Rudd/Mark Dresser, Mt. Eerie, Spires That In the Sunset Rise, Loren Connors, MV & EE with the Golden Road, Evan Parker/Barry Guy/Paul Lytton, Netptune, and many more.
