Yet More on Elliott Carter at Juilliard

Elliott Carter has touched on just about every musical format in his long and prolific career, but chamber music is where he has always seemed the most comfortable, or at least the most inclined to experiment with language and texture. The Juilliard School has taken that point to heart in this year’s weeklong Focus! festival, which celebrates Mr. Carter’s music. The first and last concerts offer orchestral works; the rest cut a wide swath through his chamber music, old and new.
