Anthony Braxton's Tricentric Foundation Website Launch

Today is the day that Braxton’s Tricentric Foundation launches their new site. A free download is available for signing up, and if you become a member, there will be downloadable content available each month.

Personally, I have had problems signing in. I tried registering with two different accounts and neither will accept my password. I suspect that this will be fixed soon.

Update: 3/2/11: I have been able to log in and download music. I hadn’t realized this earlier, but the site also offers free downloads of a number of bootleg recordings. The old (and rare) Braxton House CDs are available for a reasonable price. Overall, a great site.

The March 1 Listening Party will feature Present Music’s Artistic Director, Kevin Stalheim. The March 19 Concert will feature the Present Music Ensemble and Iva Bittová, a Czech singer, violinist and composer at 7:30pm at the Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center. Bittová’s irresistible charm, original use of voice, and fondness of melodies sit on the border of avant-garde and folk music. Her compositions are deeply rooted in classical and gypsy music. The Present Music Ensemble will also perform Steve Reich‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning Double Sextet.
