New and recent works for an unusual combination of saxophone, guitar, piano, and percussion.

Brooklyn Conservatory of Music’s New Music Collective will open the 2009-10 Conservatory concert season with the exciting, highly acclaimed Flexible Music. Blurring the lines between jazz, rock and classical, Flexible Music is comprised of Haruka Fujii, percussion, Eric Huebner, piano, Tim Ruedeman, saxophones and Dan Lippel, guitars.

Inspired by Dutch composer Louis Andriessen‘s Hout for saxophone, guitar, piano and percussion the group has commissioned over 30 pieces including new works by Nico Muhly, Orianna Webb, Vineet Shende, John Link, Ryan Streber, and Mikel Kuehn among others.
